YouTube does not care Sargon of Akkad is helping Alex Jones’ Infowars dodge a ban
On August 30th, a YouTuber named Claudia Brown tweeted out a screenshot of Sargon of Akkad publishing a video on his channel that featured him and Alex Jones in studio, at Infowars.
The video has now amassed over 300,000 views.
Sargon of Akkad wrote in a pinned YouTube comment ‘hey folks, hosting this is pretty risky so you better follow me on the following platforms,’ linking to the platforms he has not been banned from, including Telegram, the far-right haven anti-Semites and Laura Loomer fled to after being kicked off virtually every medium.
A review by MMFA exposed 14 channels that streamed Infowars content; the channels were banned reportedly on (6/21/19). Ironically, YouTube is still hosting channels from Infowars personalities.
Right Wing Watch reported, that one of the 14 channels banned after a MMFA review called “General Shepherd” was resurrected without explanation.
The mixed messages YouTube sends to the public about its terms of service was highlighted on August 30th after YouTube decided to exemplify its “openness” by reinstating Infowars’ “War Room” YouTube channel, as first reported by Vice then Right Wing Watch.
Infowars’ “War Room” channel managed to stay up on YouTube for a few hours without consequence. Shortly after Vice’s Motherboard Vertical reported Infowars’ return to YouTube the channel was removed.
It would be nice if YouTube cleared up why its acceptable to continue to host Infowars personalities on its platforms, notably, Islamophobe Paul Joseph Watson has gone unnoticed and posts content, unhindered.
(Though he was banned from Facebook and Instagram in May.)
Watson boasts over 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube and once said depression shouldn’t be a ‘medical condition’ and titled a video: “Why Are Feminists Fat & Ugly?”
Jones and his misery merchants augmented the grief and despair of Sandy Hook parents who lost their children, by saying the shooting was a false flag.
