Jimmy Dore fuels vaccine hesitancy; falsely proclaims that the vaccine is an experimental drug

As the Delta variant proliferates among the unvaccinated and many remain undecided about taking the extremely effective vaccines, right-wing Tucker Carlson ally Jimmy Dore promoted a baseless, anti-vaccine conspiracy theory on his stream, which has since been wiped from YouTube.

The safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines have been proven, as Health Feedback reported: “The vaccines were authorized for emergency use only after they were shown to be safe and effective during clinical trials.

The vaccine program has been a success in Israel, and Bloomberg’s report boasts incredibly impressive numbers in India.

In the UK, the impact of high vaccination rates can be seen clearly. Delta has caused cases to spike “on par with the height of the pandemic in the winter, but with concomitant rise in deaths.”

Even the Murdoch-run Wall Street Journal spoke about the reassuring data on the vaccine’s effect against the Delta variant.

And if you watch MSNBC’s Joy Reid you’d know that Fox News’ “epidemic of misinformation” to sabotage the COVID-19 vaccination push is working: 90% of the unvaccinated reject vaccine for fear of side effects, 16% believe spread occurs among vaccinated, and 1 in 5 believe US government is using vaccines to microchip population.

But Dore claimed on the July 20 livestream edition of The Jimmy Dore Show that you’re not allowed to speak out about supposed adverse reactions from what he misleadingly referred to as the “experimental vaccine,” saying, “The way they sold it last time was get the vaccine, you don’t have to wear a mask. You can go back to your life. Well now they’re telling you that’s not true. You gotta start wearing your masks again, and then you got to get more shots. I don’t know how they’re gonna sell this but good luck to them selling it.”

Dore alleged that his doctor was treating five people like him, and claimed that “one was a doctor and one was a nurse, and that they’re afraid to talk about the symptoms because they’re afraid to be ostracized.”

“So, that’s bad,” Dore continued. “That’s not good if people are afraid to talk about the reactions they had to this experimental vaccine because how are we going to make the vaccine safer if the scientists don’t know what the reactions to it are. So that’s bad. That’s political climate and that’s politics. That’s the political climate in the country now where medical professionals are afraid to talk about their symptoms from an experimental vaccine because they’re afraid of the fallout from it, that is nuts.”

“That is Trump derangement syndrome affecting everything now,” Dore added. “That’s not how science is supposed to work, you’re not supposed to keep your reactions secret to encourage an experimental vaccine. That doesn’t help us make a safer vaccine. And I got the jab. I got the vaccine. So don’t — some people — I know are gonna be calling me an anti-vaxxer. No. The idea that you’re supposed to keep your reactions and your symptoms to yourself is garbage. And the more people who speak up the better, the more data we have the better, and then we can make better medicine.”

Dore has been a serial offender of using an outdated, out of context Fauci video to attack him, despite Dr. Dean Winslow‘s explanation to FactCheck.org about “the science around the novel coronavirus evolving.”

FactCheck.org reported that in early March the CDC recommended conserving face masks because they were in short supply, for health care workers and those infected, and that Fauci gave an answer that was in line with CDC recommendation at that time.

Dore live-streamed a segment in mid June undermining the vaccines, then deleted it.

Dore lamented that “nothing happens to” Dr. Anthony Fauci. YouTube alleges that content inciting violence is not allowed.

Dore called for Dr. Fauci’s arrest last year, lying that Fauci lied about masks: “Can you imagine if Trump did that?”

Dore repeatedly lied about what Dr. Anthony Fauci actually said about masks and herd immunity, deflecting from Trump’s failed coronavirus response while aiding right-wing media in its successful bid to turn Fauci into a caricatured villain.

“Dr. Fauci is an unbeliavble criminal liar,” Dore falsely claimed in late June, going on to speculate without evidence if “Fauci is responsible for 92,00 deaths.”

Last August, Dore reiterated his serial falsehood that Fauci lied about masks and kept masks only for doctors: “He was afraid, if people knew masks helped them, they would go buy them, to protect themselves. Then, there wouldn’t be enough masks for doctors. [snip] That’s not Trump. That’s Fauci.”
